As the 131st President of the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), I embrace this role with pride and humility, reflecting on a 25-year journey dedicated to advancing health and well-being beyond traditional healthcare sectors.
The SLMA’s 2025 vision centers on the theme “Health Equity Across the Life Course: Resilient Pathways, Empowered Lives.” This theme encapsulates a commitment to equitable healthcare, resilience, and patient empowerment at every life stage.

Ceylon Medical Journal (CMJ) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal published quarterly by the Sri Lanka Medical Association in the last week of March, June, September and December each year.

CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. Continuing means it is a continuous process which begins from the day you start practicing as a doctor. The term Professional Development has a broader meaning than just acquiring new knowledge or skills as a doctor. It encompasses one’s own personal development as well.
